Major Objectives of the Budget
- To ensure comprehensive development in the sectors of agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure, tourism, and social welfare.
- To give priority to welfare schemes for vulnerable sections, women, children, and senior citizens.
- To promote local tourism, thereby creating employment opportunities and increasing income generation.
- To digitalize Panchayat services through the implementation of the “K-SMART” system.
Total Plan Allocation
The total plan outlay for the financial year 2026–27 is approximately ₹10.52 crore.
Major Sources of Revenue
- General Purpose Fund – ₹3.45 crore
- Finance Commission Grant – ₹95.68 lakh
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Development Fund – ₹56.91 lakh
- Own Fund – ₹5.54 crore
Infrastructure Development
- Road Development – ₹2.73 crore
- Asset Protection and Restoration – ₹95.92 lakh
- Construction of Various Footpaths/Steps – ₹44.50 lakh
- Drinking Water Projects – ₹47.15 lakh
Health and Welfare
- Panchayat contribution in addition to the Government allocation of ₹1.40 crore for the construction of a new Family Health Centre.
- Infrastructure development of Homoeopathy and Ayurveda Dispensaries.
- Day Care Centre project for senior citizens.
- Income-generating initiatives for women.
Agricultural Sector
Approximately ₹88 lakh has been allocated for agriculture and animal husbandry, including:
- Agricultural Nursery
- Distribution of Organic Fertilizers
- Distribution of Organic Pesticides
- Fencing to Prevent Crop Damage from Wild Animals
- Distribution of Pump Sets
- Honey Village Project
- Other agriculture-related initiatives
Social Welfare
- Women’s Welfare – ₹43.45 lakh
- Child Welfare Schemes – ₹15.25 lakh
- Senior Citizens’ Welfare – ₹31 lakh
- Scheduled Caste Development – ₹52.34 lakh
- Social Security Pensions – ₹8 crore
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS)
- Total Allocation – Approximately ₹9.61 crore.
- Activities include water conservation, rural road development, sanitation, and land development works.
Tourism Development
An allocation of ₹37 lakh has been earmarked for tourism projects, including:
- Chengulam LPS Park
- Elkunnu Watch Tower
- Chunayammakkal Waterfalls
- Beautification of the Anachal–Muthuvankudy Road
- Other tourism promotion initiatives
